“beneath the surface, lay the dark, frigid, salty, unknown,”
maryann
Swishing through the shallows, wrinkled toes, weightless, in an endless, bottomless sea. At first glance, an ocean looks wild and deep, yet, beneath the surface, lay the dark, frigid, salty, unknown, fear grabs ankles , broken shells, cut, slimy seaweed, tickles, dances with hairy legs. Suddenly, my mind moves, wondering, if eels, jellyfish maybe even sharks are circling, looking up at me, laughing, plotting. below. I squirm, sweating, fighting hard to keep my composure, tip-toeing, sheer terror, ever-so-quickly scrambling to the sand, the shore. Relief !! having just survived another NDE.
