Pieces of Light.

Mary Ann Burrows, “Pieces of Light”

some poems

never make it onto paper.

they are meant to pass through us

as a thought, a feeling, an essence,

or the love that lingers in silence

between what we can see

and what we can see feel.

some poems are aches,

yearning,

desires, or insatiable hunger.

some poems are kindling for affirmations,

gratitude,

sensation shifts or

epiphanies.

silent, wordless, intangible pieces of light.
